Hostage situation doesn´t change anything. Philippines are safe to travel to, the same as any other country that had simmilar situations in the past. Like Spain, USA, even UK. There were bombings in public transportation in many countries in Europe! Did you ever heard that it is not safe to travel to Spain? Or USA?
Philippines is beautiful country and has nice and friendly people. I will always return to its pristine beaches and its friendliness, as I did many times before.
