Event:

1st Ultimate Uragon Regional Skim and Skate Challenge & Luzon Skim Jam

April 3 – 4, 2010 is when Bicolano & Luzon skimmers and skaters gather to compete in one of the first ever regional skim and skate challenge held in one of Camarines Norte’s Skim havens, Bagasbas beach. An almost two kilometer expanse of flat, fine grey sand conveniently located 10 minutes away from the bustling town of Daet awaits skim aficionados from all skill levels. The skate event will be held in the Bagasbas Pavilion and an 8km, Mercedes-to-Bagasbas Push race will kick off after that.
And when you win, you will not only be featured in the next issue of SPROUT MAGAZINE, an awarding ceremony top billed by Collie Herb, Good Leaf, Dreadknot Used, SteadymovinBeat & Bicol’s very own Mudflow, but also get these nifty prizes:

FAQs:

1. Transportation

Here’s the best way to get to Daet, the land of gold and golden opportunities:

a. By Bus The buses going to Daet are located at EDSA.

Amihan – Philtranco pasay station (near mrt taft) (02)387-1792
Philtranco – Philtranco pasay station (near mrt taft) (02) 851-8079 or visit www.philtranco.com.ph
When you get to Daet, just hire a tricycle for 50php for 3-4 pax to take you hassle free to Bagasbas Beach

b. By plane
Take Airphils or etc. to Legaspi or Naga. We recommend Naga because its approximately 2 hours from Daet but if you want to see Mt. Mayon in all its coned glory, then Legaspi is the place to land.

From Legaspi – Take a van to Naga, then take another van or bus, depends on your nomadic needs really, to Daet. The van terminal is located right in front of SM City Naga’s main entrance whereas the bus terminal is situated near the mall’s south entrance.

From Naga – Take a van/bus straight to Daet.

c. By private vehicle
Gas up your car and drive to the South Luzon Expressway exit. Manila to Daet is an estimated 6-8 hour drive depending on your engine and fuel level and of course, sheer willpower to get here fast. When you exit the SLEX, it’s pretty much a straight drive until you arrive at Sta. Elena, the Gateway to Camarines Norte, and make a left turn. Then it’s just a matter of minutes til you find yourself amidst the hustle and bustle of Daet. Remember : Gas up. SLEX. 6-8 hours. Practically a straight drive to skim heaven. Sweet deal! . (download google maps for easier travel)

2. Lodging

We recommend the following hotels/inns for the ultimate Bagasbas beach experience. These places are guaranteed to give you best value for your money and more.
Surfers Dine-Inn: 0916-4759053

Traveler’s Inn: (contact # to follow)
Bagasbas Inn: (contact # to follow)
Bagasbas Lighthouse/Catherines Grill: 0916-6477209
Joselle’s Garden: (contact # to follow)
Mike’s Kites: (contact # to follow)

A designated area will be provided for free by Catherine’s Grill & Resto to those who want to set up camp along the beach, be a temporary nomad and enjoy the goodnight kiss of Bagasbas’ waves. Just pack up your tents, sleeping bags and what-have-yous, and you’re good to go.

3. Contact Information

Should you need assistance with anything or have questions/concerns about the event (registration fees, schedule, lodging, transpo), these are the digits to call or text :

Fort [Skate coordinator] – 0929-1376961
